My new Betta which was a male and was named "Bret" died 2 days ago and I don't know why..... I found it at the bottom and I figured it was resting but then it was there for so long so I moved the tank a bit and it just floated on to it's side so that's when I found out it was deceased :( I think it died because all it ate was blood worms and never ate the pellets I gave it so i'm guessing the blood worms ended up killing him... If anyone can explain or just guess to why he died please share with me....

theres no way he died because you fed him bloodwmrs. abetta can be healthy on a diet consisting of only bloodwomrs. he was most likely sick when you got him. :byebye: sorry about your loss.

I agree, he wouldnt have died from eating just bloodworms..unless he got a bad case of swimbladder but you would have noticed that. sorry about his death

its a possibility that one of the blood worms were diseased, did u get them ypourself or did u buy them? but u probably would've noticed that :*)

Then its either it was too cold, maybe you overfed it with freeze dried blood worms, or it was already sick when you bought it.

Did you clean your tank before you got the betta with soap?.. Maybe the chemicals harmed the betta.

well bettas are carnivores so yes-they need protein. also the sanfrancisco bay brand of betta food is nothing but blood worms so i dotn believe its bad to feed only bloodworms.
the betta probably wanst getting fed at the petstore so he probably wasnt constipated.
are you going to get another one chris?

Hi

My bettas eat a healthy diet of Hikari brand Freeze Died Bloodworms...None of my betta havent died they been on that diet for almost 5 months..I do give them pellets once in a while..But they love the bloodworms...I also feed them...blackworms...But thats only like once in a month...But freeze dried couldnt have killed ur betta.. 8)
