We have just set up a new Betta tank on our coffee table in the living room. It is a 20litre tank with a 3 stage external filter, heater and a light.
Here it is all set up:

Used water and filter media from the main tank to set up.

We bought Bruce from a LFS this afternoon and here he is in his new home:

He seems pretty happy and has been exploring in his log tunnel.

Hope you like.

Tank looks great and your new boy is gorgeous  . He certainly looks very happy exploring his log :good:

It's actually about 19.3 litres or 5.1 Uk Gallons. Actual dimentions are 14.5" x 11.5" x 8.5" which is 6.14 US Gallons.

It's not filled right to to the top and has about 2" of gravel so minus 3" from the height and I would say there is 3.5 UK gallons or 4.3 US Gallons.

wow, thats a really nice shaped tank, great layout and beautiful betta! :good:

im trying to take pictures of my new betta but he womn't stay still long enough!

Wow! Your tank really does look good! I wish I could get mine to look that good. I'm just not a decorator :/ ! Looks great though and so does your fish!

Nice looking tank. Real plants look a million times better as well as being beneficial IMHO.

It looks like you have planted java fern in your substrate - just a heads up that it much prefers being fixed to rocks/wood with the rhizome exposed and stands a fair chance of rotting if you leave it buried. Its the long pointy leaved plant, far left in the first two pictures.

Cheers

Mark

Thanks for all the comments.

And thanks for the advice snapefish. What would be the best thing to do with the Java looking at the setup of the tank as it is now?

Tempertaure is a steady 27 degrees now and Bruce seems to be enjoying himself. Been eating a mixture flake, bloodworm and beta pellets. :good:

Well the pebbles you have in ther look good but are probably a bit smooth for the ferns roots to get a grip on. I'd try and find a rough chunk of slate or similar - not too big though and tie the fern on with fishing line. Couple of months it should have attached itself and you can snip the fishing line off. That or a very small chunk of bogwood will work exactly the same.

Good luck

I think you'd probably be able to attach it to the log if you wanted

Gorgeous tank setup you have! And what a gorgeous betta as well! He's very lucky to have such a wonderful home!

Unbelievably beautiful betta!
