The area around her gills, right under her head seems to be shedding?

I had just changed the filter 2 days ago in the 2.5 gallon before I put her back in, she was in a 2 gallon.

The ammonia is fine, and I change the water every week.
I use to change it about 3 times a week but my mom yelled at me, saying it would prevent the good bacteria from growing.
Lets see, also the temperature is 77 and she is with a Cory Cat.

Well I moved her to a 2 gallon because we put 2 Platties in the 2.5 gallon while we set up the 10 gallon, and they bit her and she chased them.

Well I had to put her back in the 2.5 gallon after moving the Platties because she killed two of the Neon Tetras that we were getting ready to move.

So anyways back to her shedding... it looks like when humans get sunburn and their skin is pealing.
She kept wedging herself between the tank and the ammonia detector thing too.
Also she's been kind of freaking out every few minutes and hiding in the skull in the tank.
My mom said she probably want to lay eggs, since she hasn't done it since I got her over a month ago.. but I don't know if that has anything to do with it..
Is she stressed? What should I do to help her?

Need water stats in ammonia, nitrite, nitrate and ph.
Do the gills look red, or pale with excess mucas on them.
We need to look at water stats first to rule out bad water quality.

I do not have anything to test the quality of the water, but I just changed it.
The ammonia tester says "safe, alarm, alert, and toxic"
and whatever colour the middle is determines which thing its on, which it's on safe.

She actually looks a little paler to me.
And her gills are the same colour as her, a palish pink/red.
She's a red Betta.

And she keeps hiding, usually when I walk up she swims up to the front to swim wildly at me haha.
It's kind of hard whether to tell if there's excess mucus on them because she keeps hiding but I don't think there is.

EDIT: I have used the same water and the same water Dechlorinator the whole time I've had fish and this has never happened before.

And this is what she keeps doing when she's not hiding..

Take a sample of your water to the lfs and tell them to write the readings down for you.
If the fish is hiding a classic sign there something wrong.
Any flicking and rubbing or laboured breathing.

Alright, I am pretty sure I can do that tomorrow.
Should I take her to the fish store too or just tell them she is shedding?

And the only rubbing she is doing is in the picture against the ammonia tester and the side of the tank.
Other then that she hides in the skull or rarely behind the filter. This started today.

Do you think it's fin rot?
I mean it's only under her head tho.
And no, she's breathing fine.

If she rubbing thats down to poor water quality to parasites, and can rub with bacterial infections.
If she hiding something not right, is she still eating.
Any red sores on the fish.

Finrot bacterial but can be caused by poor water quality.
What do the fins look like any white edging or holes, or even any red streaks running through the fins.

Her fins are completely fine besides the top one, which the Plattie bit.
And no she has no red soars.

And yes she is eating.
And in the 2 gallon tank, she killed the neons and ate their eyes out and was picking at them, so she has been eating well.

If she been eating fish she could of caught something.
Have you tested your water yet.
