So, I finally named my Betta. Mohinder.
Turns out he's a little punk lol. I had him in a community tank, and I'd watch him. He would leave the Platies alone, and my Molly. All that was fine, but at one point I turned out the lights except for a distant night light. I could just barely see them, but Mohinder started flaring up at one of my Platies that had been mysteriously losing bits of fin. Before I got the flashlight on him, he took a chunk out of my Platy.
So, I put him in his own 2 gallon for now (I know I know, but I'm acquiring a 10 gallon for him soon and I don't want dead fish). Anyway, he's been in his little tank for a couple hours now and has already built me two bubble nests. lol.
Anyway, turns out Bettas (at least mine) seem to get feisty in the dark. He never flared at them under light or anything, but once it got dark, he went all bitey on me.
So, in the mean time, my little punk, Mohinder, is trucking away at his new bubble nest. \o/
Also, he does seem much happier on his own. I guess all those people who say "don't put male bettas with other fish" sort of know what they're talking about, yeah?
