Hi,

My male Betta "Ben" is having some problems. I've had him for about a year now, and so far he's been great. He's always happy to see me, always tries to tell me that I must be mistaken and haven't fed him yet, and so on. Basically a beautiful, healthy betta.

Anyway, I get up this morning to see him leaning toward his left side. As he's swimming he sometimes will roll completely over, and end up on his left side again.

I gave him a water change, to see if that would do anything, but I'm getting worried.

Any ideas?

And here he is. :-(

It sounds like a problem with his swim bladder, which controls the buoyancy. It could be caused by constipation, has he pooed lately? Try feeding him a boiled pea or two (without the shell) this will act as a laxative and may help. Good luck.
