He's been pretty sick for a while now, but I kept hoping he'd get better. I tried some medications, but when he recovered from one thing, he just got something else and early this afternoon, he finally died. 
I guess now I'll never know if he was a male or a female. His fin looked somwhat like a gonodium, but everyone said he looked like a female (and he didn't have a sword). I feel like it's my fault too, because I gave him medication instead of getting another tank mate for him, which I think would have been better, since my guess is the cause of his illness was being bullied by the other fish in the tank, my female gold comet swordtail. 
He will be missed.
