That seriously is my worst night mare! You got everything under control and I give you so much credit! I would have lost it. My tank was in storage for like 2 years before I reset it up (with sand that did the same "snow effect", it will go away, just water changes and rinsing the sponge in the old water) and I listened to every day for 2 weeks, had nightmares and everything.
Glad to see everything is under control though, good luck in the future!
