You could say that I have a pretty busy aquarium :p

Welcome to the forums , it's a great place to learn about fish keeping, "buckle up , and enjoy the ride ".

thanks, I knew I was smart to come here, I really like here, everyone seems to be pretty nice. What do you think of the pics?

:hi:
nice selection of fish you have.nice photos

what tank size is it and what are the current fish living in it?

DD

k, it is a 40 gallon aquarium with these fish:

2 angelfish (1 marble, don't know the other)
1 red-tail black shark (you can see him this time :D )
4 neon tetras
3 leopard danios
2 goldfish

EDIT: the angelfish always stares at his reflection like that.

well, there is one thing that i do have to comment on, goldfish!

you really shouldnt keep them in a heated tank with tropical fish. It shortens their life. Its not that they cant handel it, it is just that they like it better in a CW tank. But my brother keeps his goldfish with some tropical fish, black skirt tetras, and its doing fin, really big.

but i also have to say it is good that you have your goldfish in a 40 gallon tank. Many newbies but them in tiny tanks not knowing how big they get.

But good luck with the fish. And just watch out for the neons, as the angles get bigger they will eat them, just as teh goldfish will when they get bigger as well.

or changed your name?

I'm a bit concerned about the use of seashells in a FW aquarium. Generally, it's best to avoid them. The calcite and calcium carbonate which compose the inner layers of seashells have the potential to dissolve in water and raise the pH to unnacceptable levels thereby endangering your fish.

There are other methods of decorating your tank besides using seashells. I think adding readily available decorations like roman columns or castle ruins would look great in your tank.

sorry to argue, but, those shells are plastic. and were made for FW aquariums  But thanks for the suggestions of how to decorate the tank better

im glad you burned him on that one, lol you can tell theyre plastic :p

i really like your fish selection, nice tank size too, and it is quite busy :D

In my FW community tank I have a giant conch shell (tacky I know) but the tiny amount of 'hardness' that is given off by this one shell is undetectable on water tests. I would take it out, but my kribs are using it at the mo

I do agree that you should not use alot of shells in a FW tank, but in a large tank one or two are not a problem. And plastic ones, while not everyones cup-o-tea won't do any harm.

Nice pics BTW
