Despite what most internet sites say about pairing the two species I took a chance.

I thought it would be a massacre but it turned out ok. I have two large Angels and I introduced 9 pristella tetras in the tank a couple weeks ago. As of right now the angels have written them off after several unsuccessful attempts at catching them.

The 9 are now comfy in the tank, loosely schooling and healthy. The tetras now go near the angels and the angels don't even bother to give chase most times.

Interesting huh?

Yeah, when first introduced the tetras stayed in a heavily (fake) planted corner while the angels tried to attack. Then they slowly made their way out to feed. Over the next week or so the tetras got bolder and came out in mass.

The angels will still try to get one that gets too close but for the most part they ignore them. The other night the whole school was doing laps across the front of the tank, turning around real close to the angels and they didn't do anything.

I am sure if I skip a couple feedings in a row things would change but for now they seem to be safe.
