:( When my son went to feed them this morning he found the angelfish dead. Would the german ram attack her, her tail was gone. Don't know if this was from the filter or not. Going to get another today. She was quite small, I will get a bigger one this time. She was being picked on at the lfs when I bought her. It could have been from stress. Checked the water perimeters and they are all at 0 and ph is at 8. Temp is at 79 and does not fluctuate, is not near a window. Poor little Star, I really loved having her she was such a cute marbel angelfish, I will miss her :(

sorry about your fish, it sounds like stress. I think you should get more black phantoms as they like to be in groups.

yes i know that tetras should be in groups, but when my 25 gallon broke i lost 3 from stress after i put them in the 30 gallon. I just haven't had a chance to pick some up, in the next couple of days i will have money and i will pick some up.

thanx all. I am getting another today, but it won't be the same. She was soooooo cute and tiny. But I will find another that I like and give her a home.

When I took her back to get another they tested my water and the nitrates and nitrites were very high. Never has happened in that tank before. Came home and did 50% water change, will do another in the next couple of days and see what happens when I do my normal water change a week after that. I will be buying strip testers because I had tested with my liquid tester and could not see that it was high. The strips will be able to be used on my puffer tank also which is good. All the fish in the tank are fine, thankfully, i could have lost my german ram but didn't. I will keep a close eye on the water perimeters until I am sure everything is ok. I got them to put the money on a gift card so I can get the fish when the tank is ok.
