My Albino Tiger Bully!!!!

Hi.... I got 2 Albino Tiger Oscars 3 weeks ago but 1 unfortunately passed on 2 fishy heaven. 2day i got another Oscar 4 company but the Albino is being really teritorial now and picking on the baby A LOT. Is this normal and he's just playing or do i have something 2 worry about? The baby is sitting on the bottom of the tank looking like a complete victim of GBH!

Hi, your albino oscar has claimed that tank as his. He might kill that baby. What size of tank are these fish in? They need huge tanks, they eat lots and make lots of waste too.

They are true cichlids, you need to add them at the same time and preferable the same size helps too.

One thing you can do is to take out your albino. Place it in a holding bucket with an airstone and heater. Rearrange your whole tank completely. Leave your new baby in there while doing this. Make sure you have lots of hiding spots for the little one. Once you have moved the house around put back your albino into the tank and hopefully this will work. Watch carefully to see if your new one gets picked on sometimes this works sometimes it does not.

In my opinion I would not keep any oscar in anything less than 75 gal. I tried it once in my 25 gal and let me tell you it was a disaster. They are cute when small but grow very fast believe me. They create a huge amount of waste too. Nice fish but you really need the tank size for the busters.

And keep in mind that 75 gallons is the absolute minnimum for ONE oscar, let alone 2!

They're in a 120g tank atm.... might have 2 take that advice about the holding bucket.
The Albino was sharing his tank with 6 red-bellied p's and his albino friend that passed on until yesterday so from a busy tank 2 being alone he looked really sad! That's y i decided 2 get the tiger (thought he might b lonely)
