My 5ft Tank

I would guess that it depends on your camera and tank set up. I have a Nikon D70s (digital SLR) and use the flash on that, as essentially it freezes the subject, in turn I do get some good shots.

I have some pics of flickr, notwithstanding the name relphotography, i am not a pro or anything, it was just a name i got whilst signing up.

I agree that a flash washes out the colours, I have taken 100's of pics of my fish and the best ones are always without a flash.

Set your camera to 'sport' mode if you have one
Turn off the room lights
Feed the fish prior to taking any photos, this slows them down as they are not following you around the room begging for food!
Take LOADS of pictures and then use somthing like Photoshop, or if you dont have this Googl's Picasa is very good and free to download and you can then sharpen the photo, play around with the liughting and also crop the images.

There is also a very good forum at;

This is a good place to improve your photography skills (athough the potos you have posted are very nice!!).

Cheers

This is just a suggestion, not sure if you have room or not?

But how about getting a female Albino oscar the same size your current one is?
Or male, is upto you.

Unfortunately....I don't know the sex of the one I have.......introducing a male would be a problem.........I think introducing any other large fish might cause a territory problem.

I'd like another large fish...and am open to whether people think it might be possible....but I feel it would be too much for the size of the tank.

I have an EHEIM 2228 and a fluval 403 running on the tank.

Hello matey

Long time....

did that Silver Dollar make it okay? Is it part of your crew?

Planting big cabbages in the middle of your tank must save on plant costs eh?

lol,

just kidding buddy, hope to catch up with you soon pal

Hi Alex....wow...long time...and look at you with your 1000 posts :shifty:

Yes ... your Silver Dollar is one of the 6 crew....it is getting pretty hard to tell which one now as they are all around 5-6 inches in diameter......I am going to get a picture of when they all line up....it is pretty amusing....how are all the tanks going?

i love the tank by the way, especially all that bog wood, i wish you could see my flat now, much improved, got everything set up, tanks all looking good.

I wont detract from your thread, i will PM you

But i like your set-up, very easy on the eye

Cheers, I'll pm you tomorrow.
