How do you tell if their male or female?

Well, the easiest way is when they lay eggs She's laid about 4-5 times. They actually do it as a trio, the gold fem lays on a big leaf, and then the 2 brown males go over and fertilize. I have pics of them doing it, gotta find them and show you.

Other than that, it's not that easy, but a trained eye can tell by the tubes. The female's is thick and pointed down, the males are sharp and pointed back. I have a pic of the fem w/the tube out. gotta find it.

Beautiful pics! I want to see closeups of your keyhole too(yours is an adult too right?). I thought they liked to be in groups? I have 7 keyholes and just love them to bits.

) ) Thanks. I loved that tank but the constant algae problems because I did not have a co2 reactor were killing me. IT's now very simple and no plants One day I will do a bigger planted tank w/heated substrate and a co2 reactor. I can dream
