Just wanted to show you guys my semi planted tank. It's about five months old now and I like it a lot. I'm going to add more plants soon, but i'm very limited because of my lighting. Here's the tank:

That's a good looking tank! It's a little bare I think though.

Doesnt look bad. Once you get some more plants in there, itll look pretty good IMO.

Thanks..I'm only 14 so I can only slowly add plants to the tank. My dad would never let me get it all planted at one time. :/

Any suggestions or comments about the tank?

im the same age as u and it looks good for right now. I slowly going into a heavily palnted tank. What i do is go from 1 side to the other. like ill start in the laft and slowly move toward the other side so it doesnt look like the plants are too spread apart. Have you thought about adding a peice of drift wood? I was just wondering wat is that low lying plant?

Thats a very nice looking tank, and like KC said
a nice peice of driftwood would add to it,
nice job, :)

Krib Crazy, that plant is just java moss. I am trying to create a carpet with it, so I put it on top of the gravel. I'm waiting for it to grow out.

I'm thinking about the driftwood idea, but I don't know where I would put it. Any ideas? Maybe toward the left because the right already has the rock.

Yeah it wood look good over to the left. What type of plants are you trying to put into there?? Since you have the stock light you could do an anubus, java fern, java moss and amazon sword tank. That would look really nice

Nice tank you have there :) , personally instead of getting lots of different types of plants, i would just try and grow out the species you have already got as i think they make a good mix as they are  .

Thanks, that amazon sword is sp. bleheri. Will it grow larger than that..because I want it to get really large and become a focal point? The background looks really bare right now, and I don't know if the leaves on that amazon sword get any bigger and fill up the back.

Meaning like..will it ever grow so large as to look like this? Or is that a different species and mine won't grow that large.

im 14 two and im changing my tank to a planted tank but my granpa had an amazon sword plant once and my grandma said it grew reall big took up the whole tank but if u hav real low light i do to i just have some crypts and some other things that i dont know what they are but looks a little bare but as soo as your plants grow a little bit it will look pretty good

o what is the floating plant and what are those plants that have the thin leaves or somthing like that but you have a lot of them i think in the middle of your tank

The floating plant and the ones in the middle are the same plant. I just floated them so that they'd get bigger quicker and then I can plant them again. It's called water sprite, it's my favorite plant in my tank because it grows so quickly. A new leaf every couple of days :D

He might have had an amazon sword, but might have not been sp. bleheri. Your grandfather might have had another sp.
