Hi all! I just found this forum and it is a lot of fun. I started this tank about 18 months ago and have been passionate about it since. Can't wait to get a bigger one. I want honest opinions. Is it too planted? Do I have too many fish? I have
1 dwarf gourami
3 orange tetras
6 neon tetras
1 dojo loach
1 small placo ( can't remember the species but I know it doesn't grow bigger than 4 inches)
1 cory catfish
4 whisker shrimp
and a few snails

Does it look nice? I can take criticism!

It's impossible to be ' too planted '. Lol.
2 main things that get me concerned:
1. The dojo loach. It will be Inappropriate for a 29 gallon. They need a 75 gallon and a large school.
2. The orange tetras. They need a bigger group. I'd love to see pics as I have no idea what they are!

Here's my suggestion:
Rehome the dojo loach.
Get 4 more orange tetra.

And the Cory. He needs at least a group of 6.

Other than that I think its a lovely tank. It looks very natural and that large piece of driftwood is really nice.

Im hoping to get a bigger tank (110gal) soon before the dojo gets too much bigger but I didn't know they needed to be schooled. Can I fit more fish in there? I would love to do that but I am afraid of over crowding. I didn't know that corys needed a group that big. I had 2 but one of them died. Thanks for the advice. Im trying to get a pic of the orange tetras. (I only call them that because I remember that they are tetras and they are orange lol)

Your Cory and orange tetras need at least schools of 6 each. Once you do that you will be full. Except for the loach. He is too small.

Edit: too big not small.

Thanks so much for the advice! I think I see a trip to the fish store in my near future. I love the natural look. And I agree, you can never have too many plants. Thanks again.
