and here is the other quite dull coloured ram, any reason why he or she is so faded in colour?

She looks a bit stressed - I'm guessing it's a she, although it's difficult to see in the pic. May just be because it's a new tank and she'll settle down. I take it they're not fighting?

no they aren't fighting which is good the 1 ram that wasnt very colourful has overnight got some colour on its head, i think its because its still quite young, as you can see in one of the pics compared to the cory.

do you think its worth getting a few more, so there is a better chance in pairing?

I'm not sure - I think I'd let your two settle down and see what happens. I had trouble with fighting when I had two pairs of rams - but it was only a 20 gal tank. You might gey away with it if your tank is bigger and heavily planted - they can make their own territories.
