Hi fishie people hope i find you well today?

ok need ya advice ......set up seperate little tank and put my 2 expecting platies? i think ir r they swordtails? hmmm anyway put them in about 4 days ago seemed ok wouldnt come out much then very quiet in there and yesterday one of them just wouldnt come out from next to the heater almost touching it other ones not as bad but im sure there belly has gone downa bit but still have black bits under the belly !...yes totaly new to this as you can see so r there ok ? shall i move um bk to main tank the reason i moved them well one for sure was it was constantly being chased so to speak by other fish am i doing it right?

So they were not moved to save the fry then? A drastic change in water quality (or in this case from one tank to another) could definitely affect fish in unwanted ways. As for the one fish getting slimmer, it might have already dropped fry, or I suppose if it was far enough along.

Platies and swordtails, though both are livebearers, are not the same. Platies do not have the swordtails, and the male swords do.

As for your main tank, how many males/ females do you have? Do yuo have any hiding places for the females? Are you able to provide more hiding places for them?

STESS! that's what happend, platys get stressed very easily and abort there pregnancy over the smallest things like small temp changes to PH and water quality, check the water, was the nitrate level at 0 b4 you put them in?

But on your profile it says you are.. at least thirty.
Could you try to type with better grammar?
I cannot understand half of what you are saying.
And surely someone of your age can type better than that.
