i have 2 angels and every know and again they face each other and flick their bodies slightly, they dont fight or injure themselves or each other but i was just wondering why they do this
by the way there is nothing wrong with the water as i took it to get tested yesterday and it was fine
any ideas ?
thanks

its a cichlid thing its why so many people choose to keep cichlids.
its just a way of communicating to each other and if your lucky it could be a sign of courtship.

No angel fish only do this is they are preparing to pair off, or are fighting over a female. They often accompany this with a very firm look. They put their heads in the air and display their bellies, and also straighten all their fins out fully to look bigger.

Thats all mine ever do, and still no sign of a pair -_-

i have seen this before with mine. yeah they're fighting for a female. you'd probably get a pair soon

This is not always to do with pairing off, I have a group of males who do this fairly regularly.

if they were male and female what is the chance they will breed?, i only have these 2 though, dont know if this makes any difference

Probably not much of a chance.. But you never know  , Iv have had my female angel for 2 years now. Last year I added a new angel into my tank not knowing what sex it was, for a while they flicked their bodies at each other, which made me think they wernt getting on, until one day I looked in and noticed I had wrigglers.. :hyper:
