My 15g Albino Tank

I'll start off with where I am now. I have the tank and the substrate.
Tank- 15g, 18'' long, 12... backwards and 15 high. Not a great surface area, but considering I'm probably going to end up with several white honey gouramis, its not as bad. It has no hood, so hopefully I can get my dad/step-grandad to make me one.
Substate- Black sand, finally found somewhere that does it. Got it for £1 a kilo, that is a discount price (my dad is a friend of the owner I sense this becoming a good thing)


Next things to get are the moonlights, filter and heater. Heater I think I'll order later actually. I'll (try) and add photos, but I'm not sure if I can link the camera to the PC yet. Filter will be a fluval 2+, heater 50w, lights from ebay by garlicbread(sp?).

Ordered the heater I'm going with a fluval 2+, should be OK. Fishwise, I've only drawn up a list of possible things. So far I've got...
Platies
Honey gouramis
Cories
Oscar (LOL, joke )
Female betta/s
White skirt tetras


And thats about it. Obviously I'd get whatever it was in white/albino. I know white skirts are nippy, I'm taking that into consideration.

you will be pushed to find white or albino platys, gouramis and although white bettas exist there are very few true albinos.

Albino Glowlight Tetra are quite nice as are albino cherry barbs.

I know, bunji, haven't seen any white platies around yet... Gouramis, I meant white honey gouramis. A bit like this- http/www.jackspets.com/images/LabelPics/...2515-honey-.jpg
but white They're pretty common. As for bettas, I have a white VT. I might use him, he's a wimp, but it depends what else I get. I'm also hoping that one of the lfs's that usually has a lo of bettas in will get one, they have a tank full of o called 'sub-species' that are menat to be more peaceful. I think they're plakats, but they had a white one a few days ago. Haven't seen albino glowlights anyhwere, or albino barbs.

I have a male and female white platy....and about 50fry due any time in the next week (whether they are white I am not sure)....they do have a few black dots on them but not many.
They aren't that common in Australia but at least one LFS in my area has them at any one time

How about silver mollies? White female guppies?

UPDATE (again)-
Yay! Heaters come and I just bought a filter. Went with the Fluval 2+. So onnce I'm done on here, I'll put those in and try to take some pics. But not sure if I can put them up yet. I've got a black bin bag as a temporary background, I quite like it but I want to try and find something more rock like.

Right, dran up a list of plans. I've bunged some filter media from both my tanks in and rinsed the sponge from the 20 in the water because I wanted to help the cycle a tad.... and frankly I wanted to see the filter go Once its cycled, which I hope will only take a week ish as I've seeded it, I'm putting my 6 cories in there to level the sand off and to see if they can spawn. Obviously I'm going to condition them. After thats done, then the eggs will go in another tank (if they've made any) and the cories will go in the 20 again. Then I'll probably try hybridising a molly and a guppy. Don't worry, this is planned too (see hybrids section somewhere). If that works, the guppies will go in the 20. The molly will stay in there and I'll get the cories. I've decided to go for 4. So on and so forth with the upkeep, other stocking will probably include-
3 honey gouramis (white)

Umm... thats it. BUT..... My dads friend owns a pet shop and he's said that if there's anything I want he can try to order it in Well, thats all, folks.
