OK, so my tank arrived...... :)

Pond soil, then fine gravel, live plants all planted......

Filled with treated water, and left overnight with filter running....

Still Soooooooo murky, I'm guessing from the soil, should it be like that ?? how can I clear my water befoe I start cycling ?? :/

Oh and my little light up air bubbly thingy doesn't work, only its all set up now so its gonna be one big pain in he a** to change, Grrrrrrrrrr  (just thought I'd rant a little there !!!!

mmm newly setup will take atleast 1 week for the water to clear totally.I also sit with this now after changing to just sand. ( GOOD )The murky water will not affect your cyceling so IMO start as soon as possabile then you can get you fish quicker.

Sorry about the bubbly thingy. ( I would not have mind, my tanks water is cleaner than my tap water. )

Oh......

Got worried, then panicked.... removed everything, rewashed gravel, bought extra gravel, and re-started !!!!

My Husband is so very unimpressed !!!! :p (Made him help)

Anyways.... it's still murky, but not 'as' murky, and thanks to the above post I'm no longer panicking !!

Bubbly Thingy still not working

Know what you mean....

I added some cleaned Laterite to my tank & then 1/2 bag of gravel on top of that in my establish tank I hasten to add because I wanted to add plants.

Damn water went instantly murky, not from the Laterite, but from the damn gravel! THEN I read the small print on the package "it is recommended that the gravel is cleaned first." :shout:

Anyway, by the next day, my water was crystal clear. I would not worry too much...... B)
