it's really strange - I clean my tank regularly and haven't changed anything I add to the water, but recently, the water goes really cloudy within a few days of changing it. Has anyone got any suggestions why this might be?

thanks!

Hi

Some questions: -

How long have you had the Bi-Orb?
Did you cycle it properly? (see pinned topics in beginners section)
What type (and numbers of) fish do you keep in it?
How often do you feed?
What lighting do you have on the Orb?
Is it situated where direct sunlight can get to it?
What substrate do you use?
Do you vacuum the substrate when doing a water change?
How often is "regularly clean"?

They will do for now and your answers will give us all a clearer (excuse the pun!) picture to be able to decipher what the problem may be.

ok i think i've got all the answers. i'm actually doing this on behalf of a friend so let's see

1) Had the Bi-Orb since November 2002
2) It was cycled properly
3) She keeps 8 red eye tetra
4) They're fed a few flakes every day
5) Lighting - standard halogen bulb in the tank
6) Direct sunlight doesn't get to the tank
7) The substrate is ceramic
8) The substrate is regularly vacuumed
9) The tank's cleaned every 2 weeks

Does the bio-orb have a filter? Perhaps its some muck thats coming from the filter?
