Finally set up my tank today after it being bare for 3 months in the lounge. 10mm layer of JBL aquabasis pro then 50mm layer of black roman gravel. Fitted a back to nature cabkground so things were looking up. then as i came to fill the tank i turned on the hose and disaster.

The pressure came out too high and muxed up a good square foot of gravel and aquabasis. Aesthetically i can sort it out, but it has really clouded the water. Will this settle or do i need to drain and start again. Also , set up new fluval fx5 with 2 water polishing pads. Would it be wise to leave this on or would the water clear itself anyway?

Cheers. Ill give it a go. theres a lot still coming through the gravel its quite surreal - it looks like the gravel is steaming. No heater in there yet tho. :)

Came down this morning and there is no change.im now using 3 water polishing pads in my fluval fx5 and have been all day, and the water is still the same. Is this a 'wait this one out' or 'change the water' situation. Also, when i plant i will be disturbing te substrate so i dont really want to be making this a regular thing on top of normal wate changes.
