Ahh I see, weird lookin cichlids they are.Look a bit like blockheads.

Steatocranus tinanti one of the larger Lionhead cichlids, growing to 15cm. For a pair they would need a 90cm long tank. Reports say they are problematic breeders, the main trouble being calm between the two parents. They are cave spawners who would do fine at a pH of 7.5-8 with sand and lots rocks for hiding places. The best way to get a pair is to buy a few young fish and grow them up until you have a pair, buying a male and female in a shop could lead to nothing. They will eat most foods.

kool thank you very much. i assume it is safe to keep 2 males together? thanx very much for the info! they are kool and by the sound of it they are pretty rare. my LFS has only a few left $30 each. im thinkin of mayb getting a couple and trying my luck? i have never seen nething like it n i love them hehehe. hmmmm cant get down to LFS till monday, might call and get him to hold the best pair he has lol, hes usualy pretty good with that kinda thng.

It should be ok, but keep an eye on them when they are fully grown. Make shure each has a distinct teratory.
They are rare cichlids, one of the nicest Steatocranus. Hopefully the guy in the fish store will get you a good pair.
