Multiple Deaths

Hi All.....

I Did Have In My Tank : 5 neon tetras, 5 zebra danio's and 4 platys......

So Far I Have Lost ......4 neons, 1 zebra and 1 platy.....

i have tested the water and apart from the water hardness (KH) being a little high it all seems ok....

The tank is kept at a temperature of 25

Any Ideas ?

did you cycle

have you tested for ammonia and nirite

Over what period of time did you lose these fish?

What symptoms did they display before they died?

When you say you tested the water, what did you test for, what were the exact readings and what test kits are you using?

The tank is 48 litres, i lost the fish over a period of 3 days....

i am using a tetra 6 in 1 test kit that tests PH, Carbonate, General Hardness, Nitrite, Nitrate and Chlorine.

I added tapsafe when i first filled the tank and waited a week before introducing the fish....

You need a better test kit and keep doing 25% water changes everyday

read the link in my sig 'whats cycling' it will explain exactly whats happened to your fish.

a lot of people find themselves in your situation, the test kit you have is also rubbish so results can't be trusted.

look for the api fresh water master test kit, it's commonly available on ebay for about 15-20 quid, it's based on liquid reagents and is much more accurate.
