That's awesome!! I've never kept mudskippers, but I sure would love to! :hyper:

Hrm, now I'm sure they had those at the shop I went to on Monday. It was a heavily planted tank so I didn't see any.

they need a big tank. water and mud.
they do not need mud and they only need a 29 gallon tank! mudskipper knowledge needed? come to me i know almost all about them! they can be housed with archer fish! mud skippers need a 29 gallon tank filled half way (make sure to mark where the water level will always remain at) and some wood sticking out of the water and some styrofoam floating so they can perch! they need a small box/ sponge filter and they need a small submersible heater! and because mudskippers need their air to be the same temp as the water you need a very VERY tight fitting lid! you dont really have to do water changes just add more water to equal the evaporation lost!

you can keep 2 to 3 mudskippers in this set up and 1 to 2 archer fish!

Since archers grow to 1', I don't think you could keep one for long term in a 29g. Also, skippers are extremely territorial, so a 29g would only be able to house 1. In addition, you should ALWAYS do weekly water changes!

ACTUALLY my aunt has mudskippers and has been keeping them for almost 20 years now ^_^ and yes you can keep 1 to 2 archer fish in a 29g WIDE with the 2 or 3 mudksippers! yes i know i know they can be territorial BUT if its a tank like a 29g they will solve their differences and kiss and make up and live happy to their full life capacity! ^_^ but yes i understand were your coming from and when i first wanted i mudskipper everyone yelled at me and told me it could not be done by a stupid lil 15 year old but w/e i know own 2 mudskippers in a 18g wide ^_^

PS
and yes yes of course water changes ALWAYS but only every other week (unless it is a new tank for them) i didnt definitly say you didnt have to i just said you really didnt have to ^_^

I was going to get mud skippers, so i did a bunch of research on em. Daudy is right, you can keep around 6 mudskippers in a 29 gal, BUT only the indian mud skippers. There are many different types of mud skippers, some need a 4ft tank, some need only a 30 inch. Archer fish should be in atleast a 4ft tank though.(was gonna get archers too!) I was gonna try and get african mudskippers which get big, but now there are some indian mudskippers that are near me which i could get. I'm not allowed to get them though :/ . They need 2/3rds land, and 1/3rd water. They are more active when kept in groups.
Mud skippers are awsome, i just dont have enough money for them.

 my LFS dont have them but you can order them!
i wouldnt dare buy one though.i couldnt keep it alive
