Just realized that my mudskipper has no photo ops, so here's one!

what size tank are you holding this creature in? I know they can jump anywhere from 5 to 20 feet and more. It sounds like a hard fish to suite its needs and jumping ability.
They also seem to miscalculate their jumps in captivity so any sharp objects what so ever in the tank should be avoided.

He is in a reptile aquarium that has the dimensions of 4' x 2.5' x 1' (it's filled to apx 9 inches - at the deep end), and you heard correctly, they can jump at those distances, but if he jumps, it is to catch a cricket 6 inches away from him. I have never seen him jump further... he more or less "walks" around. But just in case, the only things in his tank are plants, sand, and water - no sharp objects (I don't even keep rocks or other sharp objects in with any of my fish). I enjoy his antics. I even hand feed him all the time. He even takes food from my fingers, and then he continues to climb onto my hand to chew and swallow his meal. I've had him for well over a year, and he seems pretty happy......

I used to love feeding mine crickets, they would lurk around bogwood and other decor then lunge at a cricket from behind. Very entertaining creatures they are.

sounds like a neat fish to keep too bad im already booked up on the next few tanks haha

He just climbs on. When I got him, it took him close to 8 months or so to start becoming comfortable with me. I'm not sure what species...

i love mud skippers and would love to get 1 but no tank i have is empty and big enough lol.
