Mud Refugium

Has anyone had any experience with a mud refugium either good or bad?

I never liked the idea of them myself. What is it you want it for in particular?

No particular reason but when I visited a couple of LFS they had them and I wondered if they are a better option as a form of filtration.

Mine appears to be working well, sorted the cycling nitrates in no time at all. Only had fish in a few weeks though...

What sort have you got? I have a 250 litretank and ideally would like to have it under the tank if I ever got one

It's in a custom sump. Take a look at my tank diary for pictures of the set-up. Might take some finding though, it appears to be sinking down a bit due to lack of up-dates
