Fish Fanatic
I was on Ebay last night looking around as I do at least once a day for that "too good to pass up" auction. I found someone just listed a 7 day auction less that 1 hour ago that was offereing a 75US gal oak finish with stand, hood, strip lights, heater, filters, fish, python system, and LOTS of other stuff for the winner "IF THEY WANT IT"
ALL FOR $100 with "buy it now"
Of course I want it but we just did the bills together for the month and I know there is no money left for this kind of thing. We even need new tires on our minivan. I closed the laptop and left the room. When I came back about 15 minutes later I opened it up and there was that nice tank staring back at me. I have 7 tanks setup already and just got a 140gal last month that I am resealing. I thought well I could sell the 140 when I am done and just have the 75 here with all the other tanks.
MTS got the best of me and I clicked the "buy-it-now" button.
I didn't even talk to my wife first
We always discuss things like this as she has to keep me "in check" since I am terrible at paying the right people at the right time. Now I feel bad and have to break the news to her soon. It really isn't a huge deal since I will be selling some stuff this week to make up the money but it is funny how my "hobbies" always get the better of me.
Now the hard part is that it's 3 hours away and gasoline prices are rediculous so it will likely cost me another 40-50 dollars in gas. Oh... one more thing... HER b'day is coming in 10 days
Uhhh... honey... I bought you a nice 75 gal for your birthday ... isn't that what you wanted?
Oh well, I thought I would share this with the ONLY people on the planet who would understand what I felt before I clicked on buy-it-now. I mean it's SUCH a good deal. (this is the part of the addiction where you tell yourself it is not really a problem I guess)
I well here is the list of things that goes along with this tank... you guys tell me if it wasn't worth it:
Well, there you have it. I hope there's someone out there who can see it as NOT totaly rediculous to buy "one more tank".

Quote from email "
Hi there! Thanks so much for buying my tank! I am SOO glad it is going to someone with fish experience! Here are the fish in it currently:
1) 1 beautiful gold nugget pleco
2) 5 black neon tetra
3) 4 yoyo loaches
4) 2 horse face loaches
5) 3 glo fish (zebra danios that" glow" under ablack light - genetically modified, you may have read about them)
6) 3 large yellow/black marble Angelfish
7) 2 upside-down catfish
8) 1 clown pleco (small)
9) 4 siamese algae eaters (NOT chinese algae eaters - these look more like flying foxes and are excellent for keeping hair algae under control. These are not agressive at all).
You can have any that you are interested in. I am nore anxious to find them good homes than in getting any money for them. Don't feel pressured to take them, since I can always sell them here. There is a fish store in the area that will buy fish, but I'd rather see them go to someone that I know will take care of them.
I have TONS of stuff you can have, including a reverse osmosis unit, python water cleaner, various water additives, filter stuff, decorations, plastic plants, etc. I am happy to help out another fish enthusiast.
I think you will really like the tank. We are sad to see it go, but we are moving.
Well, there you have it. I hope there's someone out there who can see it as NOT totaly rediculous to buy "one more tank".
