I am getting a 25 us gal tank, up and running and fully stocked .... For Free!!

This will bring me up to three tanks. The problem however is how to move it. Can I drain two thirds of the water and drive very slowly? Should I put the fish into my 5 gal water change buckets and drain the tank? If I drain the tank wouldn't I risk losing my bacterial colony. Either way, it's going to be hard on the fish. I'll have about a 20 minute drive.

I'd appreciate any and all ideas.

Best to put the fish in bags and to drain the dank to a few inches of water. Also put your filters in bags with tank water also.

Thats the best you can do really... Aswell as driving slow and taking care.

From what William told me a while back, the bacteria can double in under 24 hours. If so, just keep as much of the original water, gravel, and filter medium as possible.

Oh yeah. Keep the fish in the dark to reduce stress on them.

DONT move the tank with anything in it, the weight in the tank can cause stress on the seals and when you refill the tank it can leek or worse burst, like others said keep the gravel and as much of the water as possible.
