Mrs. wants a bay laurel tree, while looking I ran across this plant, a natural for fish keepers...

I'm wondering if I have a place to try one of these... potted, growing out of a tank...

since this propagates from cuttings, I generally find those are easy aquarium plants, just rooting them in the tank, or rinsing a rooted plant free of soil, and planting in ceramic media, in clip on pots...

That's a pretty cool plant.
I thought of another plant for you to try. It thrives in moist conditions amd you can grow it with submerged roots as long as the crown is dry. Your wife might like it too. Calla lilies.

I have had red calla lilies, bought mostly dead for 98 cents at Walmart, bloom for 3 years in my bog tank. I think this year, while the foliage is good, they may not flower. I'll give them some fertilizer, come to think of it.

I tried goldfish plants roots in, but they never took.

Okay, that's really cool. You always amaze me with your energy and willingness to explore. What a beautiful plant! If you place the cutting in your tank, I suppose at some point it has to be removed and planted? Makes me want one!
