Mrs. Sharky Died

Melafix is an antibacterial treatment as well as a precautionary/healing medicine. But if it's not working, perhaps antibiotics are the next step? It does look like a bacterial infection.

If the water stats are fine, and you're not planning on using a medication which could affect the other fish, I don't think hospitalising the shark would help, as it would just stress her more to move her.

Its been 3 days since i medicated and it doesnt seem to have helped

I did try to mve her to a hospital tank but she hated it, so i put her back, nothing bothers her so im not worried about that

I have interpet anti internal bacteria no 9 i think, would that help? or do i ned an external? any recommendations?

thanks for replying though

Bad water quality will make fish ill.
Anti internal bacteria med by interpet.
If you can issolate double dose.

is it okay to be used in conjunction with melafix though? i cant really isolate as it really stresses her out, shes a big fishie!

I take it that it would harm the other fish if i were to double dose whilst they're in there?

thankyou for replying...im not sure what it is it now seems like an ulcer :S

I am going to be sick

I was trying to get some pics to try and get more help when this happened...

some red stuff presumably blood just started to seep from her eye...

what do i do??? raise temp add salt?????!!!!!!

panicking here!!!

You don't want to add salt! Salt makes blood come out! I would dose with melafix and get him isolated.

Get Mrs. Sharky into another tank or something, you don't want to contaminate the tank.

shes on her own now

Ive thrown everyone out my her tank into my big one as it has double filtration

i just hope she will last the night =[

she didnt last the night

Ive buried her in the garden

I seriously don't know whether i still want to keep fish....

Bless Her R.I.P.

I know how tough it is to lose fish especially your favorite fish.
If you want to stop fish keeping. Be very sure of your decision.
But may I suggest getting only one fish that you really really like
(perhaps a easy fish to take care of) and treasure that fish like how you
treasured Mrs. Sharky. Maybe you don't have to completly stop
fish keeping but downsize it.

I've decided that i couldn't possibly keep another ruby shark. Im thinking of getting a south american puffer but for now i have a betta in there

thanks guys =]
