you have the male AND females in a community tank :look:

does it work?

if theyre only fighting now its cause everyone has to establish new boss rules, new tank = new terratories

thanks.

yep.. i always do..

ones i had (back home..) 8 foot cement tank with 20 somthing male and female bettas. and some of my mates had more the one betta in the tanks. we find no problem. only here in Europe.. this one Betta rule is in full force.

ps... they only fight if you put them in the jam bottle and scream.

4 red tails?!?! they are gunna KILL each other sooner or later

occasional tear in the fins? uh oh....

I've gotta say, you're playing with fire.

Algae eaters may well start to fight when they are mature and they might well need a bigger tank if they are 'sucking loach', 'chinese algae eater' types.

Red tailed sharks - ditto. They are by their nature species aggressive. It may look awesome and they might get along now, but why risk waking up one morning to find one (or more) of them in pieces?

Bettas - ditto. Females can be great together and males can co-habit with females to an extent, but it really is playing with fire. I've known people have mixed groups together for a couple of years only to find that one day the male goes mental and kills half the girls. Why risk it?

Angels with neons - angels are very, very likely to kill/eat the neons when they are the right size.

If you didn't know any of this, please have a think about your tank. If you did know most of this . . .

Please don't play with fishes lives for the sake of your own aesthetic sense or pride. They are usually kept apart for a very, very good reason and keeping them together doesn't prove anything other than that you are reckless.

they are most likely now chasing each other all over due to the larger tank and less plants/volume. it was working in the smaller tank as there was dense planting as you say. this broke up the lign of sight so the fish didnnt have to "stand off" with each other all the time.
to rectify it, get more plants and plant it as heavily as you had the original tank that they were in.
and do it sooner rather than later. the longer you wait, the more injury you will see as the aggressive fish now feel threatened as they see the other fish far more often and fighting (not just nip/chase) will definitely ensue.

cheers
