Hi, right I'm moving house which obviously means moving my fish tank which I am not looking forward too!!
My fish tank if 4 foot long and 12 inch depth and 15 inch high, it doesn't have a stand or anything it's just sat on a work top which makes moving it a bit easier I suppose.
The bottom of the tank is sanded and there is a net full of babies in there
I'm just wondering if there is any easy/safe processes of moving the tank, causing minimum stress to the fish
Any advice will be much appreciated :) thanks :)

I moved 3 tanks from my bedroom to across the house. I put the fish in a bucket of tank water. Then I put the rest of the water in 2 more buckets. I took out the decorations and gravel and put them in one of the buckets. Then I moved the tank and stand to the other room. I put the gravel and decor in the tank. Then the rest of the water and the fish. I didn't have enough buckets to carry ask if the water so I did my partial water change. That was only across the house. Since you are moving to a new house, you will have to transfer add much water add you can to your new place. I would, if you have multiple tanks, make a few trips or invest in a lot of buckets

Oo thank you :) I hear it's best to keep fish in the dark when transporting them to keep their stress levels down? It might be worth investing in some stress zyme for this transfer

I would also have someone make the drive with you and keep an eye on the buckets. That way, if you hit a big bump, the fish don't get dumped on the floor.

That's the plan, it's literally only half a mile away so it's not too bad, the move is going to take me half of the day just for the fish tank though
