In the near-future, I plan to move out into a new apartment or trailer. It's not going to be far from here, maybe 10-20 mins. I want to take my fish with me, of course, but I am unsure of how to go about this and try to keep the fish from too much stress. Any tips for moving with fish? Would it be better to keep the same water in the tank? It would be more difficult this way with a 35 gallon hex. I don't know how I'd move it if I had to keep the water in.
Thanks in advance!

I did not know that Tolak. I moved house recently, a 10 minute journey. I left the substrate with half an inch of water in there, bagged the fish up as per normal, and was just careful with the tank. That said, my tank has an external supporting framework.

Here's a few pics of a 72 gallon I got for free. Someone moved it with the substrate and a little water. It has an external support frame, and a couple of non-factory features; a cracked crossbrace from the move, and a stainless steel support to reinforce the cracked brace;

It stays in the basement, if a seam goes out it will leak across the concrete floor to a floor drain.
