As you can see from my signature Couple of New Tanks.

I am moving this week, so I decided since I have to break down My current 2 tanks anyway.

I was wondering if I can move fish from my 75 to the 37. I will be running Emperor 400 and Cannister on 37. I love to over filter.

I want to put some kind of cichlids in my 75 gallon.

75 gallon has been running problem free since april. (knock on Wood) Not one disease or water spike at all.

I will use one of my emperor 400 on 37 gallon, And put new one on 75 gallon with other established filter.

Also, gravel from 75 will go in 37, along with some rocks and things

That's too many fish to be putting into one tank. If you split it up with the 29, maybe.

Suggestions if you do this: Put cyps and chars in one, and the rest in the other.

Still wouldn't suggest it though. :/

Also, overfiltering does nothing for your tank, IMO. All it does is increase circulation and aeration, which is easily done with air pumps. The only thing you are doing is creating a current in the tank that the fish might not like. You see, the bacteria that are responsible for the biological filtration are in both the filter media and (in larger quantities) in your substrate. With proper circulation, the bacteriain the substrate would be doing most of hte filtering anyways...

I was thinking samething, just wanted someone to say it first.

Take the tank mate of 75 gallon, and split 37 and 29 gallon. I water change twice a week also.

I think putting contents of 75 gallon and split between 66 gallons (37 & 29) should be cool.

Anyone else?
