Hi, I'm moving some fish into my bigger tank to help it cycle but right now the only hardy fish i have are my platies and there are only 2 adults.

I was also wondering if the platy fry are hardy or if they wouldn't do too well in the new tank right now? They're not TINY there are around 4 babies that are around 4 months old.

Hi, platys are quite hardy but all babies will succumbe to high ammonia or nitrites. Personally I would stick to fishless cycling with ammonia. It's quicker, especially if you add some filter material from your old tank. It is also cheaper and less painful than watching your fish die!!!
