Thanks guys I need some help. I will be relocating from MN to ID in a few months and want to know how I can transfer my two angel fish and misc others with damaging or possible killing them. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Taking the tank with water is out of the question due to limited space and weight of the tank.

Thanks again

Just do what your LFS does, bag the fish in 1/3 water and 2/3 air, they should be okay in there for the drive.

EDIT: Do the same for transferring the filter media, put it in a bag with 1/3 water and 2/3 air, and then throw some fish food in there, as this will produce ammonia for the Autotrophic bacteria.

You DO NOT want to transfer a tank with any water or substrate in it. A tank is designed to be stable in a none-moving position where there is equal pressure on all surfaces and seals. If you try to move a tank with water in it, you are going to be putting a lot of stress on the seals and glass, which cold lead to leaks and/or catastrophic failure.
