Hi All..
I have a mature 55gal tank of malawis, but next week I am moving from the city to the burbs. The problem I have how to move the fish because I do not think I will be able to break down the tank and set it up within a day or two (I have the whole house and 2 kids to prioritize).

The fish shops around me will not babysit the fish for a move. How long can 7 malawis survive in a bucket?

Any suggestions on how to make this happen logistically would be very much appreciated.
thanks in advance

How about keeping 2 buckets on the go, so that you can swap the fish over daily into fresh water that has stood for 24 hours, using a conditioner like stresscoat and a small heater if needed plus an airstone.

Alternatively, purchase a small filter for the bucket and put filter media from your existing filter in it which will give better water agitation.

Just an idea.

If it were me, i would buy myself one of those large storage containers from a homewares shop, you can get quite decent sized ones which would be more than sufficient for a few days, just make sure you have plenty of airation and a mature filter running.

My 2 pence :)
