Moving House

Hi all i need abit of help im moving house in 2 weeks so it means packing up my fish tanks and trying to move the fish. Two tanks i have i cant see it being a problem ( smaller fish ) but in my bigger tank i have fish that are around 14" in size plecs and catfish. I will be moving about 30 miles from where i am now so want all fish to get there nice and safe so any help on how to get fish there safe would be great

Id use some nice big tubs for the plecs. Something like those plastic toy boxes you get in all the shops nowdays

something like that with a lid. Sooooo many shops sell these they will be easy to come by.

Reason Id use one for the plecs... simple. Some of them like to suck on plastic bags. They can then tear and *spash* - Mr fishy wonders where all of his water has gone. (some like bristlenoses also have spines that can easily shred a plastic bag.)

Maidenhead sell fish transport bags which honestly look like rebranded coolbags.

A mate of mine moved about 40 miles and had to transfer some large cichlids - I'm sure he used cool bags.

Another thing to consider is reusing packaging from recent Internet fish purchases. Some use large polystyrene boxes which may prove useful.
