HI

Last night the Platy I had in my breeding trap in my 40 gal tank gave birth and I now have 4 baby platies (she was obviously giving birth before I put her in the trap). I'd like to move them into the 10 gal fry tank I have which has 2 week old guppy fry but have some questions:

- how can I do it?? Should I catch them and put them in a bag?

- the fry tank is a couple degrees warmer than the tank they are in at the moment - does this mean they will need time to adjust in a bag (I can't just throw them in?)

- is it worth moving them at all? The breeding trap is covered in the mum's poop and I thought it can't be a very nice place to live right now!

- will the 2 week old guppy fry try and eat/attack these platy fry?

Thanks in advance!

Yep so answered your own question.
Or do a 50% water change in the fry tank and replace with main tank water then just move them across and their be fine

Yes or do what i said above and then move them, this is what i do quite often and never lose a fish.

Thats fine

Nope they will all be fine. may chase a little at first but thats it, they will give up.

Thanks for that - I'll try catching them and putting them in a bag (somehow, any suggestions?)

Also - how active are the supposed to be? They are less than 24 hours old and they don't move a hell of a lot, just lay at the bottom and swim every now and then. That would be my concern at putting them in with the guppy fry, is that they are not really swimming around much right now.
