I have a tank that is 10 gallon planted tank that is cycled and has been running for about over a year. I have 1 paradise fish, 4 head and tail light tetras, 3 serpae tetras, 2 corys, and 2 ottos. i want to move them to a 20 gallon tank. My problem is I want to put my 20 gallon tank in the same place as the 10. How do I move them to the new tank. I do not want to move the 10 gallon with water in it. I have thought of setting up a temporary tank my friend has and setting it up in my house, by transfering water from the established tank. Then set up the 20 and let it run for a day and then add the fish back to the 20. i would hope to use some of the gravel from the 10 to seed my 20 to get it the cycle going. Has any one done something like this and has advice.

Just siphon the water to the extra tank, and put the fish in that with the filters. Then breakdown the ten and start the 20, use most of the water that the fish are in back into the 20 and hook the filters up. Using the gravel will be good but if you just use the old filters (without washing them) you will have no need to cycle.
