yes, it wil benefit the fish aswell as they will get a change of scenery. but if theyre terretorila fish then im not too sure as it may upset them, but im not sure

The only problem I see is if you have fish that naturally have a homebase like cichlids, many catfish, etc... They will be a bit stressed out trying to "find" a new territory.

It shouldn't really be a problem every now and again but too often may stress your fish.

whn i used to keep cichlids i was told by my local store to do this, as it stops them being territorial and aggressive, but was also told to limit this in a community tank as it can cause stress for the fish

First off thank you all for the great info! Second, what do fish eggs look like? I would have cichlid eggs if I did have any.
