i have a 15g with a betta, some cories, and some neons. needless to say that the betta is slightly aggressive. i want to move him to a seperate tank but i didnt know if they needed filtration or if i could just do water changes. how big does the tank have to be? and then any ideas on what other fish i can keep with 5 bronze cories and 5 neons?

The question to filter or not to filter is a bone of contention amoung many betta keepers.

I can only answer from my own point of view here...

I would say yes, buy a filter. It will keep the water nice and clean. I also (while I'm at it) think that betta should be put in a fully cycled tank. Once again, I have noticed some on this forum that disagree with both my comments and of course it's each to their own method in this case. I just happen to feel it is kinder on the fish to keep it ina filtered and fully cycled tank :)

I have 3 female betta in a 20L filtered tank and two male betta in seperate 15L tanks as well, one of them being a baby biorb :)

Hope that helps, but I expect you may have many different answers to your question. It will of course be up to you to decide what to do for the best :D

do i need a heater?

Unless where you keep your betta is consistantly at 75F or above, yes you'll need a heat. A great option is one of those 3 or 5 gallon kits that comes with the tank, filter, and light, all you need to provide is a heater (25watts) and decor.
