as far as i know it should be ok,i have sand substrate,no co2 and it grows well

here is a pic,i have put it beside a 12inch ruler,so you can see what you will be purchasing,the plant in the picture is all one piece,i can't guarantee the bit you will get will be in one piece,but it will be the same size,lenght wise
