Moved little fish

I had 2 swordy fry in a breeder thingy in my 30gal tank. Lately the bigger one (same age) has been picking on the little one So my only real option was to put the bigger one with the adults. It is about 3/4 inch long, certainly bigger han a fishes mouth and big enough to eat crushed up flakes.

It spent the first few minutes hiding in a plant scoping things out then ventured out. It wasn't chased, or "hunted" then shortly after ate its first meal with the big guys. It is SOOOO cute still yet is now chasing the big fish

It is now after midnight and it is sleeping next to the tank policeman, a red velvet wag male platy So cute yet so sad. My baby has grown up

That's harsh u should think its cute wen ur fish are stressed and running or swimming for it's life!

What are you talking about Tropjunky? She said it WASN'T chased or hunted or anything. Sounds to me like everything went great.

Platy, (may I call you Platy? ) At 3/4 of an inch, I am surprised you still had him in a breeding basket. Seems like he would have been ok with the big guys for a few weeks already. But, I can see you were being cautious, which is better than thoughtless.

How big is the little fry, the one that was being picked on by his brother? Are you going to release him soon or let him get some size first?

The one left in the breeding trap is about 1/2 inch. And still looks like "food". Now he is alone it can get all the food without being chased by the bully. I am expecting to release it in about 2-4 weeks.

I kept these guys in longer than normal since they are my fiurst swordy fry and wanted to ensure they weren't eaten

The released baby has taken a liking to tasty val plants
