I moved my crowntail into my 18 gallon and he is doing really well. He's like okay, there's an oto, oh look! another oto! He keeps following them around lol.

But my big blue guy isn't doing well. I figured he would do better with the more aggresive fish because he is bigger and makes huge bubble nests. I put him in the 26 but he won't fight back! My opalline gourami, which is the meanest one like eats his fins and he runs into the big plant which is where the giant gourami hides from the opalline gourami and he chases him out. I don't know if he will start defending himself but if he doesn't I'll have to take him out. I might just get rid of the opalline gourami since he is being so mean. He thinks the whole tank is his! But if he pisses off the rams one will attack him from the front and another will come up behind him and bite him! I think it's funny because they are so small but they put him in his place!

Why is my opalline gourami being such a jerk? All of my gourami are the same size but he is just mean!

Where size is concerned... A cow.... Pretty large.... And a school of pirhanna..... Hmmmm....

well, gourami aren't pirahna and unless it's a siamese fighting cow... then I don't think it's the same. :D

He has the word FIGHT in his name! Why wont he fight back? Now he is hiding under a rock.... I am getting rid of that damn opalline gourami. That fish is the devil. My giant gourami just tryed to come out and he chased him away. And he's my favorite!

Maybe the store sold you a Siamese Running Fish?

I think you should take the betta out of there since your big tank already has an established pecking order. The betta doesn't seem to fit anywhere in there.

I've been watching the betta and he has been coming out and attacking everyone! That poor giant gourami, no one likes him! :( I think once I get rid of the opalline gourami there will be a better pecking order. He eats the ram eggs, picks on the giant gourami, the neon blue never comes out, and the fire gourami has his own territory but if he crosses the heater all hell breaks loose. It's funny because it's like the heater is the boundry line!

I don't know if my betta is just really dark blue or what you would call melano. These are what my bettas look like:

My betta in the 18 gallon. He may or may not be a crowntail...

Mine has longer fins than this one. This isn't my betta

Hi Auratus :)

Your opaline isn't being mean, he's just being a gourami. They are, by nature, territorial and the biggest strongest one gets the choice territory.

You have several tanks, why not spread them out so that each one can live in peace?

Your bettas are beautiful, I don't understand why you would risk letting them get injured by other fish.

I took the opalline to the fish store. He was just beating up on everyone. The betta is doing really well now. And my neon blue actually comes out!

And they aren't being hurt. They are doing better. It's getting cold and they needed a steady temperature. They are both not being picked on. And a betta ruling over all the tetras. I bet he's enjoying himself!
