I just treated my tank for columnaris (<--spelling???) and everyone seems fine except for one fish( I treated with acraflavine twice as directed). Before I treated he had a little fluff on his tail and the fluff is still there, though it looks looser now as if it's kinda hanging off his tail. Does this mean that he still has fin rot? Also after the second day of the second treatment the directions stated that I change 25% of the water. That was 4 days ago. Will it be ok to do my weekly 25% water change in 3 days? Or is the medicine still working in the tank? Thanx!

Is the med gram postive or gram negative antibtioc or both.

Are the fins deteriating.

All the fins are fine and not deteriorating. I don't know what gram +/- is..?
Don't forget I'm based in the U.S. The med is Fungus cure by API, supposed to treat Fungus,Mouth Fungus,Body Slime & Eye Cloud and Fin & Tail Rot. Ingredient: Acriflavine.

If you have done a water change that would of diluted the med down, did you run some black carbon to remove the rest of the med.

The exact directions on the box said to remove carbon filter and add med, wait 2 days and add med again. 2 days after second dose do a 25% water change and put in a NEW carbon filter. Thats all. So now I'm on day 8. The water is still slightly green from med but I noticed that both my lyretail molly and white skirt tetra still have a very small amount of what looks to be white fluff on their tails. I dont think it ever went away but is still there.

So just to make it clear (since I'm confusing myself now.. ).

1)Took out carbon filter and added first dose of med
2)waited 2 days then added second dose of med (still no carbon filter)
3)waited 2 days, did 25% water change and put new carbon filter in

4)day 8..don't know what to do?!? change more water or add more meds?

The box states that 2 doses are necessary for full treatment (which I did)
but itty bit of white fluffy stuff remains on 2 fish tails. All other fish are A-OK. No signs of any fungus. The fluff on my black mollies lip is even gone. Checked all levels in tank (nitrate/nitrite/pH/ammonia..) All all good.

Eek..! So now what?

I would change the med its not doing it job if you have done two courses.
