Mouth Breeding Cichlids

i am breeding Nicaragunese cichlids ( Parrot) , Pseudotropheus sp. Acei Tanzanian Black , Haplochromis sp. 44 "Red Tail" , and electric yellows, as they are all mouth breeders i have started dividing my tanks for the females to spit the fry out, my idea is to setup a 4 foot tank/180 liters and divide it into 4 sections and put the females in there to spit the babies then when the babies are a few weeks old i will put them in a grow out tank, how does this sound? any advise please?

Use a general African Cichlid tank set-up, lot's of rocks and plants for hiding spots, heavily filtered, clean water etc. Post this in the african cichlid section and you may get better repsonses.

For holding tanks I'd go bare bottom for ease of cleaning, and a cave or two of some sort. You'll probably want some over sized sponge filters for filtration so newly spit fry don't get sucked up.

What you're planning sounds fine to me.

thanks alot evrerything is going very well, infact i am getting more fry cichlids then i can handle, they are breeeding very nice thanks
