Hey everyone!
I wanted to share this on the forums as I have had a few people ask me how my fish grow so fast without using unnatural methods! I hope this can help anyone who needs it? :)

Essentially I try and figure out the best possible diet plan for each individual fish (to be honest it’s better to have a tank full of fish that will accept almost anything) and then I feed them a varied diet every week. For example.. for my severums I use sinking central/south american cichlid pellets as the main diet, 2 days bloodworms and live foods as the high protein supports healthy growth. I then change 50% of the water weekly and that’s really the gist of it, that’s probably one of many good ways to get fish growing but I just wanted to share my experiences in case anyone wanted any tips on fish growth :)

Other ways to grow fish quickly include:
Large volume of water. The bigger the tank, the faster they grow and the bigger they get.

Lots of food. Feed baby fish 3-5 times a day with a varied diet. Do regular water changes to keep the tank clean.

Huge water changes. These help dilute nutrients, hormones and other chemicals released by the fish and allow for faster growth.

Warm temperature. 28C (82F) is the best temperature for growing young fish. Warmer temperatures speed up their metabolism and help them digest food faster and grow faster.

Couldnt of said it any better :) Cant believe I missed out large tanks that’s probably one of the most important factors

Also stocking will effect the growth of fish , keeping too many of the same type will make larger and smaller fish just from natural hierarchy
