Well, i'm planning on doing a java moss wall on my new breeding tank when I get it, I just wondered if anyone else has done a moss wall, as I haven't seen any on the forums apart from the pinned article. I wondered if it is easy to maintain or not and does it look good when it has grown? I've seen a picture on ebay of a guy selling his guide to making a java moss wall, and that look really nice, just hope i'm going to be able to do it like that!

I think I prefer Psued's method tbh, it seems easier and also the gap between the glass and the mesh will be smaller if you follow Psued's guide. The only thing I dislike about Psued's guide is that I will have to use silicone, but i'm going to see if I can maybe use a hot glue gun or something instead, or if there is any other alternatives.

I'm about to try a moss wall using Taiwan moss (looks like it goes by other names but not sure what it's real name should be) Got it off ebay.
I got a net that you use to cover fish ponds, holes are 12mm apart so lets see how that goes.
Also got hold of some Riccia but it's gone a bit brown so i'm letting it float a while see if it'll grow before i tie it down.
Also got some Pelia :D Lets see how this one goes too.

My only problem right now is that it's hot and i dont think there's enough oxygen in the water as the fish are having to breathe fast. I left the oxygen on overnight and they seemed fine in the morning so i switched it off during the day. But later in the day they started breathing fast again so put oxygen on again. Will this have any affect on the amount of CO2 in the water? I am using a DIY CO2 although it's slowed down a lot and i think it'll need changing soon, but i dunno whether to let if keep going for a while whilst it's slow and it's hot.

BTW I've seen you're other post asking for some moss and riccia. I'll keep that in mind when i've finished, see what i've got left.

Hey, this idea sucks, don't try it lol

Yes, but that's because he used java moss, I was thinking of using a different moss but the same guide. I've found different guides anyway, so not sure which one i'm going to use yet. I'd be most pleased if you could spare some moss if you have any left over voo, i've got people offering me riccia, but still not moss.

I'd be happy to grow it in my very high light tank, so maybe a nice large clump or something? I'm sure I can grow enough to cover a 2ft tank.

Well this is the moss i've bought, if someone can id it for me and make sure i didnt get diddled i'd be most grateful :/

Neal -> Are you wanting to cover all of the back of the tank? I was planning on doing this until i realised i've got tall plants all the way along the back so i wouldnt see half of it. In the end i just made a 3" wall along the top.

Yes I was going to do all the back, and then do a nice riccia carpet on the bottom, and have a few plants but not enough to obstruct my view of the wall.
